Sprouting workshop

Sprouting workshop

Sprouting workshop
Monday, February 10, 2025 - 5:00pm

Sprouts are a burst of energy and flavour, packed into a tender green. Sprouting seeds, such as alfalfa and radish increases the nutrition and flavour of the greens, and is a great way to include fresh and delicious foods into your daily menu.

Join Amanda from Belmont Farmstead as we learn how to sprout seeds successfully using the jar method. The Jar method is a simple set up that consists of: a jar; seeds; a tilting stand; and a screen lid - all of which will ensure successful sprouting and delicious greens available every day, for next to no cost.

You will be completely set up to sprout at home after attending this workshop, we hope you can come!

This workshop is $20 and includes the Sprouting kit.

Community Meal with Inwendaamin Oki
Tuesday, February 11, 2025 - 4:30pm

The Seasoned Spoon cafe and Inwendaamin Oki welcome you to a Community Walk and Meal, on Tuesday, February 11th.

We hope that you can join us to celebrate this land, and acknowledge the changes and impacts that are taking place.

4:30pm- we will gather outside of the Spoon cafe to create Prayer flags for this land, a ceremony led by Elder Dorothy Taylor of Curve Lake.

We will continue on a guided walk, led by friends of Inwendaamin Oki, where we can hang our flags.

OUR MEAL IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT. WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US FOR THE CEREMONY AND WALK.

5:30pm - Arrive at the Seasoned Spoon for a discussion and warm meal, PWYC. (SOLD OUT)

6:30- Prayer flag activity: we will be creating flags together that will be brought up to the Trent Vegetable Gardens, as a gesture of grief and healing as we continue to grow food and connect with the land in a time of upheaval and construction.

If you are interested in joining us for just the walk, please feel free to drop-in, and bring your friends.

If you would like to stay for the meal, or join us just for the meal portion of the evening, please reserve a (free) ticket here.

Head to our Contact page for instructions on how to find the Seasoned Spoon Cafe at Trent, and where to find parking.
