Planning your Garden with the TVG
Colouring the Treaty Map
Join us at the Spoon on Tuesday, November 4th from 11-1pm for some colouring time. Sheets of Star Daughter Woman's Treaty Map will be available and colouring supplies, as well as coffee, tea and baked goods. There is a passive display on site with resources and information about the Williams Treaty.
All are welcome to this drop-in event. No registration is required.

'Save the dough' Pizza dough-making
Join us at the Seasoned Spoon, Monday, October 27th for a hands-on workshop led by Catherine Loa a community member, nurse, and homesteader. Catherine is bringing her love of making simple recipes and delicious pizza dough to the Spoon and we are so excited to have her! Learning this easy recipe will continue to be a gift all winter long as we nestle into eating warmer, comfort foods.
Using only a few ingredients, and learning the simple steps of kneading and stretching pizza dough we will all have a chance to play and create. Join us for the workshop, stay for the feast as we taste our creations fresh from the oven!
This workshop is $5, please contact spoonvolunteers@gmail.com if the cost is a barrier.

Apple cider
Join us at the Seasoned Spoon to enjoy a cup of warm cider from freshly squeezed, locally-grown apples.
We will be pressing apples and collecting the sweet juice to enjoy together and celebrate the harvest.
Everyone is welcome and there is no cost or need to register for this event.

Garden tour and pickling
Join Nyx for a workshop on Food Security and Community Resilience. We will take a tour of the Trent Vegetable Gardens and learn from the gardeners about their season in the field and rooftop garden, and their regenerative farming practices. Then, we will move across the river to the Seasoned Spoon where Head Cook, Clara will guide a hands-on workshop on pickling and preserving vegetables. Light refreshments to follow.
We will meet outside the Spoon on the patio beside the river at 4pm. This workshop will require walking from the Spoon to the gardens and back.

A Tour of Trent's Alternative Campus Food Systems
Featuring the Spoon and the Trent Vegetable Gardens
Wednesday, October 1st 11-2pm
Join the Trent Vegetable Gardens and the Seasoned Spoon for a fall-tour of the gardens, the off-grid root cellar, and cafe - campus' very own field-to-table cafe! We will meet outside the entrance of the Environmental Science building near the Faryon bridge and head upstairs to the rooftop garden where we will tour the garden and learn about the various projects and offerings of the TVG. Our tour includes a stop at the root cellar, and a demonstration of how this ancient technology has helped folks keep vegetables fresh and crispy all winter long, without the use of electricity! Our final stop will be at the Seasoned Spoon cafe, a chance for us to share our 'Stone Soup' origins and all the changes we have seen over the last 2 decades at Trent. Refreshments to follow.
